I'm a Bruins fan myself, but being in Florida, congratulations to the Tampa Bay Lightning on winning the franchise's first Stanley Cup.
I know the series wasn't the most popular in history, but it was certainly entertaining. Both Tampa and Calgary fought tooth and nail to the end, and there was never a dull moment.
Granted, this game was a bit more exciting than it should have been after the refs basically gave Calgary their goal calling a mystery penalty on Nolan Pratt, that could have been a huge hosejob.
Just like Bourque a couple of years ago, Dave Andreychuk deserved this Cup win. I'm very happy for him. He led the team with his experience. I was happy to see Fedotenko do so well this finals after being pretty unappreciated in Philly. And I was happy for Khabi to play so well after all the questions about what kind of motivation he had and what kind of tender he is. He's world class.
Waiting on the Conn Smythe announcement...
Brad Richards of course! They didn't lose when he scored. He was all over the place. Very much deserved. His dad will be proud while he catches lobsters the rest of this week.
Congrats to the city of Tampa, (not Tampa Bay), and to Calgary, for putting on a great show. I think this series is great for hockey, two small market teams making it to the big show, that's great for the game and great for the fans. And popularity for the sport will only grow when the teams from the south do well.
Now please, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY, don't have a lockout next year.
