Dare found my earlier post mentioning the Ctrl+Q thing that was previously changed to Ctrl+M, and responds with the reasons why, and a fix, which I think is cool.

For the record, I still love RSSBandit and totally wasn’t blasting anyine, just thought it was weird that a keyboard shortcut would just up and change.  I also think it’s weird that people would think it’s a “bug” just because outlook/outlook express used Ctrl+Q and RSSBandit didn’t.  In every news reader I ever remember using, which I equate RSSBandit to over say, a mail reader, it’s been either Ctrl+M or Ctrl+K to mark all as read.  But either way, every program has the right to define its own shortcuts…I was just a little annoyed that it changed from one to the other, because honestly my user experience was to hit Ctrl+M about 5 times thinking I was doing something wrong, then go look it up.

Anyway I’m rambling and it’s moot, because Phil Haack made a shortcut editor that looks like it’s going to become an official piece of the RSSBandit product (way to go Phil!) in the next release, and we can make whatever damn shortcuts we want!

Thanks for addressing it Dare, I and others appreciate that you took the time to respond with the reasons why the change was made.  Totally cool.  I wish more software makers (small or large) would do the same.
