Mostly I like to read myself type (doesn’t have the same ring as “hear myself speak” does it?).

But once in a while it’s nice to get validation that you are doing something useful.  I got an email today referencing something that I struggled with back in January, namely that I was having trouble streaming a pdf to the browser…and it was an ongoing saga for like a week.

This was one of those piss-you-off-and-make-you-wish-you’d-gone-into-marketing problems, wherein something that was ostensibly simple and was working the world over for every other developer that had ever tried it was not, in fact, working for you, making you question your intelligence, sanity, and overall reason for being.

The issue turned out to be a bug in Adobe Acrobat 6.  /sigh.

Anyway, the guy who sent the email found me on google (seems I’m the first result if you google adobe c# plugin WriteFile!  Score!) and told me that my blog post fixed his problem.  Just one little affirmation that I have in fact been useful to someone…nice way to end the year.  Glad to help!
