My only decent contribution to the altnet group to date :/

The idea is you can geolocate like-minded developers and hopefully use the map to set up meetings, geek dinners, book clubs, or just coffee and an argument about grokkability (I went there).  Check out the map, it's nice to be able to pinpoint the location of our community members.

Also check out the altnetpedia if you want to know what this is all about, and the mailing list if you a) have the balls to stand it and 2) can handle the firehose.
